The Sonz of Soul are an American vocal group that performs using choreography, distinct harmonies, and extravagant wardrobe. They are influenced highly by male R&B and Soul music groups from the 1960’s and 1970's. A Trip To Soulville features singing and dancing styles made famous by groups such as The Temptations, Earth Wind and Fire, The Jackson 5, and more.
Featuring four male vocalists and dancers, the group was formed in 2010 in Tokyo, Japan. The Sonz of soul .Leader and Founder David King of Lackawanna, New York; Anthony “AJ” Johnson of Miami, Florida.,Dion Washington of Los Angeles. Individually they have worked professionally with artists such as The Temptations, The Stylistics, Kool and The Gang, Jermaine Jackson, and even FOR Barack Obama.
Through excitingly precise choreography and soulful harmonic laced visual expressions during their high energy live performances, the group hypnotizes the audiences and leaves them thirsting for more of the….'Sonz of Soul!'

It was eight years ago when the idea to put together a singing group performing old school music became a reality for us.
Many of you knew our beloved brother Calvin Youngblood, he was an original member of the group who passed away On April 18, 2011 (April 17th in America). Prior to Calvin's passing, we had many private conversations and one particular conversation we had while he was hospitalized stuck out the most, it went like this: "My brother (David) whatever you do, you make sure you keep this group going." I made the promise to do so, and with the help of my brother AJ we have done just that.
